Intercountry
adoption play therapist Jane Brown, who has five adopted children from
Korea and China, is coming to Australia in June. Jane is sponsored by
ASIAC (NSW) Inc and AFA (ACT).
Jane, a qualified social worker and educator from the US
A,
works with 20-25 children in a group to explore their adoption experience
through drama, drawing, craft, games and other fun activities designed to
help integrate the information they receive about adoption and race. This
is Jane's second visit to Australia and this time, she
will be taking with her the drawings made by the children to sew
into an Adoption Quilt which will be shipped back to Sydney. The idea is
that the quilt will be rotated around the families whose children helped
make it and to be used for display at adoption events.
