  Two papers available:

  Future Adoption Laws for Queensland - Policy Paper outlining the Queensland Government’s proposal for new adoption laws (excluding part 4A of the Adoption of Children Act 1964 which deals with access to information and the lodgement of objections), and
  the Balancing Privacy and Access:  Adoption Consultation Paper inviting feedback from people about whether part 4A of the Act needs to be reformed and, if so, what reform is needed.

  Both papers are accessible on line as follows:

  the Department of Child Safety’s website www.childsafety.qld.gov.au (follow the Adoption Legislation Review link on the homepage); and
  the ConsultQld website www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au

  The review consultation process will include public forums, and a number of public information sessions are being planned.  Details of these sessions will be posted on the website when finalised.
