| The purpose
of the Inter-Country Adoptee Support Network (ICASN) is to
provide support emotionally and culturally to ICAs, as
an avenue for exploring the issues of trans-racial adoption in as
positive a manner as possible. Often the
journey of exploring adoption issues is a private and sometimes painful one.
We find that one of the greatest ways of dealing with our issues is to help
educate the wider public by providing a range of viewpoints based off our
experiences - for we are the experts in understanding and knowing how the
adoptee experiences adoption. It is our hope
that in sharing our inter-country adoptee perspectives that other adoptees
like us will feel empowered to share and grow, and that the communities
around us will gain a greater understanding of our perspectives.
