JEANNIE FITZPATRICK
QLD Teenage Representative

My name is Jen Thu Ha Fitzpatrick.  I was on the first flight of Operation Babylift from Vietnam to Sydney in 1975.  I was adopted by an Australian couple and grew up in rural Victoria.  My family moved to Queensland in 1985 and I completed University in Townsville.

I am currently employed by the Department of Child Safety, Adoption Services Queensland as an Adoption Officer in March 2006.  My role as an Adoption Officer is to assist prospective parents in the Expression of Interest, the Eligibility process and Education Sessions.  I find this job extremely rewarding because I provide insight, connections and personal experiences.

I am actively involved in Government/stakeholder meetings, forums and events and have established a Queensland Teenager Adoptee Group.  I welcome contact by adoptees and parents interested in sharing their stories, or who are seeking advice and direction.

I can be contacted on yangyin@ihug.com.au
